Time is so important because we only have a certain number of hours in a week. When they are gone they are gone. You cannot buy them back or trade for more, they are just gone! And where does all the time go?
I have been infatuated with time for as long as I can remember. I have always wanted to figure out ways to make the most of my time. This is what I have found: The first step in making the most out of your time is to figure out where it is all going.
Did you know that there is 168 hours in a week? Let’s say you spend 8 hours a night sleeping and 40 hours a week at work. That still leaves you with 70 hours a week!! If you are like most people, including myself, you have no idea where those 70 hours go.
That is why I came up with griding.
Take a piece of paper and draw 13 vertical lines and 13 horizontal lines intersecting the vertical lines. This will make 169 boxes. Cross out one to equal your 168 hours. Now every time you do anything fill in a box. I like to use S for sleep and W for work etc. If you don’t think you will remember then make a key to the side of your graft and label what each one stands for.
After you have created a grid and filled it out for the week, sit down, take a look. See if there is anything you can change to make your life more productive and happy. Maybe switch out your Candy Crush time with reading or working on a goal you always wanted to achieve. Or consider going to the gym instead of binge watching Netflix. Whatever you decide to do is great! Just remember you can’t get the time back. Make sure you spend it wisely.
Talk to you next week,
