Simply Family Part One

Hi everyone!!!

I missed you all. I have not written in a week; I haven’t had much time to write because I was at a family reunion. I learned so much in the last couple weeks about family, but I also learned, how grateful I am for this connection to all of you. I have always wanted to be a part of strengthening and empowering who ever I could, for as long as I can remember. I am here to share as many life lessons with you as I can. In hopes, that it can help you with something in your life that you would like to improve. I am very excited to start launching videos very soon. I would love to know if you prefer video or written blogs?

So much has happened since the last time we spoke, and crazy, it’s all related to family. Last week, when I went on a trip with my mom and my brother to our family reunion I learned many family lessons. Also, my brother was in town for the last month, and I had a scary situation. It seems like every time I pick a blog topic, I am flooded with so much information pertaining to it, but that is great because there are lessons in each story.
The family reunion was amazing, my aunt planned it, and everything was perfect! I know where I got my party planning gene from. I saw so many people that I missed so much. I was very close with my cousins when we were little, and some of my best memories are with them. I was able to meet the new generation, and I am so excited to see what they become. It made me really think about how short life is, and we only have a limited time on earth to spend together. I definitely think we should get together more. I would love to plan our next reunion!
With that said, we are still like every other family. It has not always been this great, but with a little effort, it is better than ever. How do you feel about your family? Do you get along well? Are there underlying issues? I can say I am not 100 percent there with all of my family. I honestly still have a crap ton of work to do, but I am committed to building and nourishing the relationships that I believe are instrumental to my well-being. It is far easier to focus on each relationship or piece of the family puzzle. Let’s start with the cutest little piece. My little brother.
My brother came down at the beginning of June, we had a great time! He is such inspiring, intelligent, and entertaining person. We did not always get along, because we are very different people, and I always focused on everything he did that I did not like. Instead, I began to focus on what was great that we both liked, and all his amazing qualities. When you start focusing on everything that makes a person great, they give you more of it. Ever since I have changed my focus everything has been amazing, and we have had a ton of fun together!
I know you all have lives to get back to so I am going to break this into two parts. Next week, we will talk about the scary situations and a few other family matters. Don’t forget to go on Facebook and Like and Follow my page. Thanks for reading!
Until we meet again…
